Hello, my name is Bob, and I've been a fisherman for 35 yrs. Sounds like an intro. for a twelve step program doesn't it? They think we fishermen are addicted, sick, and twisted. Who else would stand shivering in the rain, feet wet, hands aching, making one more cast for a one in 10,000 chance at a Musky? (Get it? The fish of 10,000 casts) Yeah, I have a problem, but they say admitting it is the first step.

Anyway, about 10 yrs ago my friend Dave Wamboldt and I met while working together at Pike Creek Outfitters. Mike and Barb Hines, the owners were ready to retire, do some traveling, and start enjoying life instead of getting up in the dark as they both did for many years. I learned a great deal from them and they always treated me like family, and still do.

What you will find here is people who know what they're talking about, and everything you need for Lake Michigan. Dave is the Perch Guru. He even pours his own worms, we call them the "Wammer Slammers". I would be up the creek, to put it politely, without Dave. Did I mention he's got way more experience than me because he's way older? That's funny, I mention it to him all the time.

Thanks, Bob

fishin' report 6-2-11

It's been over a week since I last posted, but it's because there isn't really anything new to say. Fish have been scattered anywhere from 40ft. out to 120. Guys that are pulling big setups are taking some nice Kings close to 20lbs. Hawkeye caught a Coho last weekend that was around 12lbs. Obviously this was a 4yr. old fish, which according to the Honorable Mr. Hasenberg does happen occasionally. There have been times when even the pros have struggled lately while seeing huge schools of fish on their electronics. I guess they just have to wait until someone throws the switch. So far I have not heard of the fish changing over to the before light bite.

Smaller boat action- some days have been too rough to fish for perch off Waukegan. Many of those anglers have said that they think the spawn is nearly over. However, Mr. Wojnicz has been able to get out in rougher water, and has still been doing well. Not much news from the inland lakes other than the ever-producing Delavan.

The weather is so unpredictable that the fishing is also. This weekend is supposed to be dry, but cloudy and cool. I'm sure it will be accompanied by wind. Get out when you can- Bob
